Mass Management
Manage Your Business More Efficiently and Enjoy Greater Productivity & Road Safety with Mass Management Accreditation.
Mass Management Accreditation is part of NHVAS (National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme). It encourages heavy vehicle operators to take more responsibility for loading their trucks correctly and ensuring that the trucks are not overloaded.
Mass Management Accreditation offers you access to additional mass concessions. You will need to have an auditable Mass Management System in place that contains the procedures that you develop and record in order to qualify for accreditation. The policies and procedures should outline how the vehicles are to be loaded, weights verified, and recorded to create consistency in vehicle loadings.
You can apply for either Concessional Mass Limits (CML Accreditation) or Higher Mass Limits (HML Accreditation). CML Accreditation will enable general access to the road network. On the other hand, HML Accreditation will help you access Higher Mass Limits. If you are a heavy vehicle operator in Queensland and New South Wales running Higher Mass Limits Accreditation, then you must participate in the IAP or Intelligence Access Program.
It is up to you what methods you want to use to record and monitor load weights. However, you need to make sure that the methods are clearly defined and understood by everyone associated with loading vehicles. Also, they must be verifiable and consistently accurate.
